Baked handvo | How to make Baked handvo


Ingredients to make Baked handvo

1 cup Rice, 1/2 Cup Chana Daal ,1/4 cup moong daal, 2 tbsp urad daal ,1 cup Curd ,1 cup grated Lauki ,1 cup grated Carrot, 1 tsp Ginger paste ,2 chillies ,1 cup thick palak paste, 1 tbsp Oil,1 tbsp Mustard Seeds,1 tsp Jeera,1/4 tsp Hing,1 tsp seasme seeds,10 Curry Leaves,Coriander leaves,Salt as per taste,1 tsp Red Chilli powder,1/4 tsp Haldi,1 Lemon Juice,1 tsp Sugar,1/2 tsp Baking Soda,1 sachet of eno, pomegranate pearls

How to make Baked handvo

Soak all rice and daal for 3-4 hours

Grind them and keep 7-8 hours or whole night for fermentation

Add curd and vegetables

Add all spices

Add Lemon juice and sugar

Add baking soda

Make tadka by heating oil

Add rai,jeera and hing

Add curry leaves and sesame seeds

Now add half tadka in battar

Devide battar in 2 parts and add palak paste in one part ,mix finely

Preheat ovan

Grease a mould

Add eno sachet and 2 tsp water to activate eno

Mix all of them finely

And pour yellow battar in mould

And bake it in ovan for 5 -6 min.

Then gently pour green battar upon it

And bake it for 15 min. At 180 degree 

When baked let it cool

And demould it

Add remaining tadka on top of handvo

Sprinkle some red chilli powder. It will look beautiful

Sprinkle sesame seeds and green chilli (optional)

Garnish with pomegranate pearls and coriander leaves

Serve hot with chutney

My Tip:

I bake it but can make in steamer also
